Hello, I have done the DTA thermal analysis using Setaram TG92-16 thermogravimetric analyzer. My powder sample was composed of SiO2-Na2O-CaO-P2O5-SrO glass sample. I've heated this up till 1300°C in the alumina crucible. Is there any way I could remove the stain using some weak acid? Crucible looks exactly like in the picture.
If you use crucibles for analysis, then you should not work with them more than once. The fact is that, for example, sodium oxide can diffuse deeply into the aluminum oxide crucible, and this cannot be cleaned. If the crucible is not used for analysis, it can be easily cleaned of glass by sandblasting with corundum powder.

As stated by Vadim Verlotski it will depend on the chemicals used in the experiment. An easy way to clean deposits from alumina crucibles is to use potassium carbonate. After fusion, the solid will clean a significant number of solid residues from the alumina crucible.
However, some chemicals are going to permeate the Al2O3 walls. Those will definitively contaminate the crucible.
In such a case, the crucible should not be reused.
