I want to study the chromosome number in root tips of Abelmoschus esculentus. I feel that phenol content is more in some of my okra germplasm (Abelmoschus line) which is a hindrance for staining the root tips with fuelgen stain. I have tried several tehniques to stain it, but the root tips are not getting stained with Feulgen and I could not able to see any chromosomes under microscope except the cell wall structure. Could anyone please suggest me to solve this problem?
