I am trying to quantify the number of cells in the liquid fermentation. The liquid fermentation including CaCO3 which makes it impossible to do quantification by UV-OD600 and weigh the dry weight directly. I am thinking to use HCl to get rid of CaCO3 at first. Just wondering will the HCl influence the weight of cells and do you have any good idea to quantify the cells when your fermentation containing CaCO3?
