How to relate the increase in the Total organic carbon and decrease in chemical oxygen demand after dewatering of sludge by freeze thawing method?

I am performing an experiment to study the effect of sludge dewatering on the total organic carbon and chemical oxygen demand. When I analyses the results after dewatering I got a 4 fold increase in the total organic carbon and total suspended solids, however I found a decrease (0.5 fold) in chemical oxygen demand. I am unable to correlate the increase in the total organic carbon and decrease in chemical oxygen demand.
