Some books are published from London, New York, Amsterdam, New Delhi. When I cite in the APA style, do I have to mention all the cities from where it was published?
1. Look up the name of the publisher on Google, and try to identify the city where the headquarters of the company are located. Use that city in your reference.
2. Use the name of the city that is closest to the nationality of the authors. Usually books published in Latin America, for example, are edited in Mexico. I guess you can follow this rule with books from other latitudes.
3. Look for other sources (scientific publications, journals) in which the book is cited, and use the same reference in your paper.
You might want to try out Zotero and use the ISBN to retrieve the citation details. It is solve the problem from online sources. This would also reduce the complexity of dealing with citations.
I tend to use the first city listed in the publication information. To my knowledge, that tends to satisfy APA style requirements. If London is the first name in the list, use that.
