i am working on wideband microstrip slot antenna for 1.8Ghz resonance frequency. i am getting resonance frequency above 5Ghz , how to reduce this frequency?
Make the circumference of the slot longer - usually by making the slot longer, but it can also be done by using a H shape, for instance.
try to increase the size of radiating element because size and resonance frequency are inversely proportional. Hope this will help!
Array of the lumped capacitors soldered across the slot shifts the slot frequency down. You may restrict yourself to a very simple example of a single capacitor, which is the easiest and the cheapest way to tune the slot antenna resonance.
At high frequencies lumped capacitor may be replaced by quarter-wave transmission line (this configuration is quite close to one described in Mr. White post).
resonant frequency can be reduced by making the antenna electrically longer, follow the changes in surface current distribution,
try to introduce DMS, DGS, metallic strip, shorting pin, shorted patch, meandering slots/slits ...etc. may help.
