I have synthesized Manganese Ferrite nanoparticles by co-precipitation method. In the XRD analysis i have found two extra peaks around 31 and 45 degrees however the other peaks are matching with the Manganese ferrite standard XRD. Anyone help me with the unknown peaks around 31 and 45 degrees?
find out the impurity what element is that exactly... if you are able to do that then go for calcination according to the TGA of that particular element found as impurity. High temperature calcination can remove the impurity at the same just see that Mn should not be more oxidized or changes its physical chemical nature
Prettencia L Joseph The impurities that i have found were Fe(OH)2 and MnO2. But still iam not able to find why the impurites are formed. Is it forming in the initial reaction itself?
Fe(OH)2 could be in initial but Mno2 is still more refined form can be attained either in pre- heat treatment or is your co-precipitation method is adjoined with heating????? if yes then MnO2 should be formed in the end of the process.
