I agree with the answer provided. Nevertheless, be aware that bone density change is not only related to mechanical energy as it is often found in the literature. If you remove the biology from the structural living bone, then you can apply whatever mechanical force you want, no bone remodeling will occur. You will then deal with a structural optimization problem through a phenomenological evolution.

Integrating cells mechanotransduction and biological exchanges is a challenging tasks in order to understand local bone remodeling mechanisms.
