A contour graph is a graph that you can use to understand the relationship between two factors on the response. The following plot shows how variable A (Cu (mg/l)) and variable D (dose) affect the quality (contours) of % CU. The darker regions (red) identify higher % Cu. The contour levels reveal a peak % Cu in A of 100 and D of 5. Quality scores in this peak region are greater than 100 (104.78).
Try to read some publications to understand how they interpreted these plots.

A contour plot is the geometric illustration of a 3-D relationship in two dimensions, with X1 and X2 (independent variables) plotted on x- and y-scales and response values represented by contours (z-scale). Contour plots are useful for establishing the response values and operating conditions as required.
Response surface plot (3-D plot) is the graphical illustration of the potential relationship between three variables. It is obtained by plotting two independent variables on the x- and y-scales, and the response (z) variable is represented by a smooth surface (3-D surface plot). Similar to contour plots, 3-D surface plots are useful for establishing the response values but in a more concise manner.
A contour plot is constructed based on equation of response, a simple method to interprete this plot by adding contour line thus it will appear value of response or depending on gradual colour. This colour based on response value

If it is 3D plot with colour gradient or spectrum (concentric circles) as the output chart, then the optimal area is situated in the colour that is a complete circle and not annular.
Does anybody how to superimposed cotour plots of the response graph?
