How to read Citect SCADA trend data with python?

Hello everyone!

I am looking for a possibility to read Citect SCADA trend data using python code. I like to access the data files directly without a conversion into CVS etc. using the Citect SCADA package. This offers a data analysis offline in the office. Does someone know a solution? Thank you for your help.
