Hi there,

I would like to ask you about photoelectrochemical cell (PEC) organization. I use plexiglass H-type PEC with ion exchange membrane, catalysts is powders of different metal oxides. Should I apply the catalyst powder only to the surface of ITO or FTO glass or I can use any other electroconductive materails (glassy carbon for example)?

In the case of ITO/FTO glass on which side should I apply light: directly to the catalytic layer or to the catalytic layer, but on the glass side? In other words, should the catalytic layer be turned towards the membrane or toward the light source?

Should I somehow isolate the photoanode part of PEC from the light source?
