It has been a common problem observed by the farmers about the failure of flowering and fruiting in pulse crop at the flowering stage ? In some cases soil remained very fertile especially with nitrogenous status. But even if in case of low to medium status of nitrogen (In spite of proper fertilisation) some varieties failed to produce flower and fruits in pulses. Is there any suggestion for nutrition as phosphate or potash application can cease the vegetative growth and promote flowering especially at this stage.
Dear, application foliar macro and micro nutrient before flowering stage can be useful to encourage flowering and fruiting with low irrigation doses in short intervals continuously at flowering stage, insuring that no deficit water stress occur.

Dr. Singh, I had already gone through the paper, but farmers cannot afford/access the hormones, which was specified in the paper. So I am giving emphasis on nutrients or commercially available hormones which are available in the remote village shop.
Dr. Shah you have commented a general statement. Please be specific about the nutrients. It is not possible for farmers to use all types nutrients as foliar spray.
Indranil..here is a work advocating foliar application of nutrients comprising DAP 2 percent + NAA 40 ppm + ZnSO4 0.5percent + FeSO4 1 percent twice (Preflowering + Flowering) + soil inoculation of phosphobacteria recorded significantly highest reproductive efficiency and grain yield of rice fallow pulses . Thank you Dr. Srivastava for providing me useful information regarding the issue. By this time I got some good responses from some farmers who had applied potassic fertiliser (according to my recommendation) in two spell as top dressing in the pulse crop field where the imbalanced use of nitrogenous fertiliser cause profuse vegetative growth at the flowering stage. The soils were already deficient in K status. However in some other fields the results were 50:50.
I am yet to test the results by applying phosphatic and potassic fertiliser as foliar spray during this flowering time. In our farming situation farmers don't have access to phosphobacteria etc. So I am using these nutrients only to see if any improvement observed by this application.
Very good feedback , Indranil , i appreciate your efforts , balancing excess nitrogen through additional supply of potassium , would be surely one of the effective ways to harnessing better flowering load ,since phosphorous also holds equally important role to be looked at with good vigil...
