I work in a lab with a Bruker micrOTOF II that uses Compass software. I have many hundred of data acquisitions that I would like to process so that I get a centroid mass spectrum from each acquisition. However, the software only lets me process one spectrum at a time. I have read that you can write a method that process spectra quickly, but I have not found any good resources for learning to write a method. Does anyone have a good tutorial for learning to code for Compass software? Or perhaps access to methods that would let me process more than one spectrum at a time?

I do not have an electronic copy of the manual unfortunately, so I cannot send you a copy very easily. I have learned that the coding language is Visual Basic. I am now trying to learn how to loop through several files using that language so that I could process multiple spectra at once.
I ended up being able to get this to work by making a method using Visual Basic in the Data Analysis software. The instructions for what commands to use are in the help section on the software when you open up a new method.

I did get it to work, but I no longer work in that lab anymore. The basic way I figured it out was to look under the help section when making a new method and looking for a list of Visual Basic commands that did what I wanted. I used the Internet to learn a bit more about visual basic syntax and it ended up working.
