The shade dried plant materials are good for preparation of plant extracts. But the chopped plant materials containing high moisture favors the growth of molds. Please suggest me how to overcome this problem so I can keep my plant material for shade dry without growth of molds?
I Know that moisture is a real problem; In Sudan we have a hot weather & ventilation helps realy in the acceleration of the drying process (north-south position of wind). If the place is rainy weather then the only method is to use an oven with a reasonable temperature (39-40C); this may take more time but it is safer than exposing your material to a humid weather.
May be possible to design a hanging tray using a net material to the bottom and let more wind pass through it. (Slice samples using a sharp knife than chopping, that will prevent removing plant sap from the samples unnecessarily.) The air saturated with moisture will be removed frequently and replaced by fresh air. May be a fan can be used for this purpose. This might be better than using dehydrator with hot air .
I agree with Abdelkhalig Muddathir, You can follow his suggestion to overcome your problem of growth of mold.
