Hi everyone

I am planning to analyse the gut contents of wild insects using metabarcoding. However, I am afraid that due to the time it takes from capture to transport to the lab, the insects will digest what they ate and I will not be able to get a representative sample of the insects' natural diet. Does anyone know of a protocol for freezing insects or other alternative so that the bacteria and enzymes of the digestive system do not break down the stomach contents?

Thanks in advance
