First, you should prepare a landslide inventory for events induced by rainfall phenomena, including rainfall parameters (intensity, accumulation, duration). Such an information could be imported in a GIS platform and managed as contour lines. After that, a relation between this information and spatial landslide distribution could be developed.
If still did not get expected answer then my suggestion is to consider following issues;
If using satellite based data (TRMM) then you can import the TRMM file in GIS, provided pixel size matches with the base layer in GIS. You can try interpolation thing since best you can get in TRMM is 25 km pixel size.
Task would be difficult if using raingauge considered point locations only which are spatially challenged.
