Hi everyone,
I have a question about position of a part in Abaqus, in particulary i have to place my beam element between two reference point (RP1 and RP2) to simulate a ligament between two bones but i don't know how to do it. I created a reference system with x axis oriented along the axis that link the two reference point but i don't know the rotation angle for the beam element.
I leave a screenshot of the situation and i hope someone can help me.
Emanuele Di Bella get the node numbers corresponding to the coordinates of those reference points and connect them to create beam elements. You can create elements through nodes only.
Just in case if you share .cae and .jnl file, i will quickly connect them. Currently from the given picture i cannot explain you how to do it. Sorry for the delay in answering, thanks to everyone for the advices, after a few attempts i positioned the elements correctly. Now i have an excessive distortion problem of my model's elements. I tried to change mesh, loads and boundary conditions but anything seems to resolve these problem, i also tried adaptive remeshing but it don't works because excessive distortion. Every job i starts aborted for too many attempts on the first increment.
I constrained the metatarsals and imposed a displacement along z only for the calcaneous.
