Hi guys ! I'm looking for a way to plot XY history output results in a cylindrical CSYS (it's ok with field output but not for history..). I'm working on a pipe geometry where forces are applied radially in a cylindrical CSYS so it could be useful ... Thx
If you have not defined cylindrical csys in input, then you can define temporarily in viewer and use these csys to transform the results. Check section 42.8 (Creating coordinate system during postprocessing) in abaqus cae user's manual.
Thank you for your answer Abhimanyu, yes you can transform field outputs as sayed in section 42.8 "field output results can be transformed to a specified user-defined coordinate system." but it seems impossible to transform an history output .. any other idea ?
history output, do it manually or through script...coordinate transformation is very easy and you can find the details in any good fea book (or vector algebra)
yes of course you can use a script to transform :
U1N, U2N => U1N = U1N +XNodeN and U2N = U2N+YNodeN
then r=sqrt(U1N^2+U2N^2) and theta = atan(U2N/U1N)
but it requires to extract monitored nodes coordinates (XNodeN,YNodeN) etc..
I was just looking for a way to do it automatically
