I have a graph found plotted from scope in simulink. This plot from scope can not be edited and can't be used for publication or presentation whereas graphs from matlab can be edited like changing axes properties. How to use simplot function in matlab so that I can plot graph of simulink in matlab?
You can export the graph from simulink to workspace (Matlab) using the following function blocks: your variable with SIMOUT TO WORKSPACE (SIMULINK Library blocks ---> SINKS) and the time variable with CLOCK (SIMULINK Library blocks --> SOURCES) with another SIMOUT TO WORKSPACE. At workspace you can plot both variables and edit as you want.

I have found another way around. after getting plot from source/ simulink, type following command in workspace. Then editable tool box automatically comes up in scope plot.. Probably this is valid from 2011 matlab version onwards

The correct way which is followed by researcher is something like this
You save your data in mat file and then mat file will store all the information for ever. any time you want to plot it, you have to open corresponding mat file script and you can do all the editting you want..
Of course I learnt it now, quite late
you can find the "To Workspace" in simulink library. Just connect to the graph which you wan to plot. After that go to command window and type Plot( file name of To workspace) and enter you will find the graph .
Using the following code you can edit the graph. Moreover,it is not matlab version specified code. It can be used any version of matlab

the best and easiest way is to use this command
subplot(2,2,1); plot(ScopeData.time,ScopeData.signals(1,1).values)
change the subplot value and signals value for more data

use a block to save simulink data into workspace. then load data from workspace. Now plot according to your choice.
An easier way, albeit manual, is to do in the opened scope : "File" -> "Print to Figure"
Like that, you can do everything you can do to a figure, as it is now indeed a Figure.
First of all goto scope settings,click on logging and tick decimation and log data to workspace, save format Array
than by using the command
plot(name of scope)
you can easily plot what you wanted
For more changing you can edit the .fig file by going in to Axis Properties
-Add a block toworkspace(save format must be timeseries)
-plot(out.time,out.data)
-print -djpeg -r600 name .jpg
The best way is to save the variable into the workspace by using " To workspace " or "To File" blocks. These blocks can be found in Simulink/Sinks/. While the To workspace block saves the variable in MATLAB workspace using the variable name you provided in the .mat file and you need to load the .mat file in order to access that variables.
Try this:
%1. save your simulink model and your m-file in the same directory
%2. inside the simunlink model rename your scope you want to plot as mySimScope
%3. in your m-file include the following commands
sim('mySimulinkModel')
open_system('mySimulinkModel/mySimScope') %opens the scope
ylabel('Y-axis')
xlabel('X-axis')
grid on
grid minor
IF using Matlab- Simulink - you can change the properties from tools>axes scaling > after that you can choose Axes.su ... or in Matlab you can using (Apps > Signal Analyzer ) i think this best .
you should transfer your data from matlab to simulink with "Sink>> to workspace". you set a name, then run your model in simulink. After that your data go to matlab workspace. Then, you can plot your data in matlab.
