I need help in research work regarding adsorption technique for waste water treatment.for that i want perform desorption study of adsorbents.plsease guide me the procedure to perform desorption study.it will be great help.
Dear Dr. Patel: The answers should be in these sorption - desorption kinetics and mechanisms publications.

More than a dozen predictive spreadsheet models are available. Collaboration might also be available.
I don't know what kind of experimental set up you have. Batch or Column system? Adsorption columns are generally used in wastewater treatment. The desorption of the columns can be done using EDTA. After exhaust the column, draine it off for the remaining aqueous solution. Desorption of solute from loaded adsorbent PCA can be carried out by solvent elution method using 0.05 M EDTA as eluent. Pump the EDTA solution into the column at constant temperature at a fixed flow rate (You should search appropriate flow rates for your WWT method). After the regeneration, the adsorbent column can be washed with distilled water to remove EDTA from the column before the influent wastewater will be reintroduced for the subsequent adsorption-desorption cycles. Adsorption-desorption cycles should be performed thrice using the same bed to check the sustainability of the bed for repeated use (Column Adsorption and Desorption Studies of Fluoride on Perchloric Acid

Batch and column methods have both been mentioned. In chemical engineering terms, a column experiment is described in terms of theoretical plates. A batch experiment would relate separately to each of the theoretical plates. The publications for which I gave you references report kinetics and reaction mechanisms investigated by a batch method. Predictive spreadsheet models are available. Good luck
The textile industry contains pollutants that are difficult to remove from the wastewater. Regeneration after adsorption is also difficult. However I suggest you electrochemical regeneration. Because you are working batch system. So check out the article I sent to you. Please inform us whether it is appropriate method for you or not..
