How can I measure the required airflow rate to overcome the flow rate caused by stack effect inside the chimney?

I have determined the air flow rate inside the chimney (with specific height and cross section area) which is created by stack effect but I need to overcome this flow rate by changing the height or cross section area and force of wind driven. How can I find the suitable height and area of duct to overcome the mentioned flow rate? Is Bernoulli principle enough to carry out this problem?
