I am a PhD student currently working on a topic "selection and Characterization of natural chitosan for solid recovery in aquaculture wastewater treatment"
I am required to use rsm for optimization. Independent parameters are pH and coagulant dosage while dependent factors will be turbidity, color and COD.
I will be glad if you can be help regarding the experimental design. Thanks.

for each of your independent parameters you will need to select the number of levels e.g pH (3-5-7).
You could also find some free DOE software.
You can conduct a preliminary tests using Jar test to select the laboratory optimum conditions.
