Well, as the name suggests '16 day composite', it is a composited dataset of all 16days. So, I do not think it is possible to retrieve one particular day data from a 16 day composite. You may either have to look for some other data product or have to compute, whatever parameter you're looking at, on your own!

I will suggest you visit "https://neo.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/view.php?datasetId=MOD_NDVI_16&date=2018-07-01" to browse through the dates that are available so that you can adjust your dates to fit what is available for you to use.

I will recommend to access this link for download Modis data of your desired area and date (https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/data_access/daac2disk).

MODIS NDVI 16 day composite ID is MOD13A2 (terra) or MY13A2 (aqua).

P/s: dont forget to set up the folder for storing data from your web browser automatically. It's worth because I believe you dont want to click on the "OK" and "select folder" multiple times.
