I am reading about Solvatochromism of organic dyes, in many papers I found equations for Energy of absorption (Ea) and Energy of Emission (Ef) with Dimroth polarity parameter ET (30)

like these:

E a =75.17 – 0.101 x ET (30) eq#1

E f = 68 .28 – 0 .35 x ET (30) eq#2

I know about:

molar transition energy (ET)

ET (Kcal.mol)= h.c.v-NA = 2.859X10-3.V (cm-1) eq#3

ET(30) values from tables

How these two equations (#1 & 2) can be obtained ?

also about the plot of energy of absorption (Ea) and emission (Ef) versus ET (30) of different solvents :

the energy of absorption (Ea) and emission (Ef) does it calculated simply by the following equation:

E = h.c/wavelength
