Chunhui Li Not sure I fully understand your question but pH and polyvalent ions (e.g. Ca2+, PO42-) will alter the charge and modify the zeta potential in suspension. This webinar may be useful (registration required):

Alan F Rawle I appreciate you being able to answer my question. During the synthesis, the solvent was deionized water, the initiator was thermal initiator, and the pH was not adjusted. When I changed the amount of cationic monomer, I found that the Zeta potential did not change.
Chunhui Li DI water is about the worst medium for nanoparticles - no surfactants or stabilizers.
