The modeling of polymeric material properties in ABAQUS can be considered as hyperplastic or highly elastic only if the test material has such properties. Otherwise, the results obtained do not correspond to the experimental data. It is good to project a series of experiments (one-dimensional tension, pressure, bending, twisting, hardness, etc.) to determine the mechanical and technological properties of the material. The results obtained can be applied in the computer simulation experiment.
You can as well model polymer with elastic-plastic model using Drucker-Prager (DP) model. This model (DP) is commonly used in simulating fiber reinforced polymer composites. Polymers generally have different strength in tension and compression. And their yield strength is sensitive to hydrostatic pressure. These effects can be captured using DP model.
Do we need to use User subroutine to model these materials or GIU can be used to model these materials.. Can you please share some article to model this? Thank You
