I am working on masonry infill wall using diagonal strut in sap2000, but when i increased the width of diagonal strut, the displacement also increased, but according to literature if width of diagonal strut increase displacement should be decrease..I performed pushover analysis or rc frame with masonry infill with and without opening. Please tell what is the actual process?

From the theoretical point of view, I would say that it depends on the model you choose. Diagonal "width" may appear in infill stiffness, strength, or both. Since infills are usually more fragile than the frame, an increase in their stiffness will usually anticipate their failure, hence reducing the total displacement capacity. Conversely, an increase in strength of the infill will usually posticipate their failrue. If the width affect both stiffenss and strength, both results are possible.
