hello everyone, i want to model a moving load (truck wheel) on an RC beam (concrete is modeled as 3D stress element and the steel bars are embedded in it as truss elements)
does anyone of you have any recommendation?
how can i model this? as a moving mass, or a moving force?
is there any simplified CAE file so i can see and learn?
how do you think i can define the contact between the wheel and the RC beam
If you think in terms of a free body, in x direction there will be frictional force (generated due to motion of wheel on the beam element). The contacts in ansys should be defined as frictional contacts (select wheel as contact body and beam element as target body). Also define coefficient of friction in between the two. In y direction there will be (mg) which is balanced by the normal reaction.
You can easily model it by SAP2000 software. You can define Vehicles load on an element.
