I have a tube with the cross-section shown. The thickness of the tube wall and some segments is different (t1, t2, t3, t4, and t5). I am using LS-DYNA for the simulation. Is there a way to model it as a single part? If yes, How do I assign the different thicknesses?
I tried modeling it using multiple parts with different thicknesses. However, some members penetrate each other, which is not supposed to happen as they are from a single tube. What kind of contact should I use to avoid this problem if this is the way to model it?

In ls-dyna single shell part have single thickness. What kind of penetration you are worried about (can you show a screen)?
You can try contraint_tie to join parts with mismatched meshes, but in my opinion it is possible to model it without this keyword, since it is quite regular geometry.

I have fixed the penetration error by adjusting the position of the parts to account for the shell thickness.
The problem now is the parts break apart during loading as shown in the attached picture. Should I tie them as you suggested?
