As phytoremediation by Trapa natans can easily be achieved as it is a hyperaccumulator, but the heavy metals are accumulated in its fruits which are consumed by the peoples, it will definitely affect the consumer, then what will be the positive aspect of phytoremediation by such fruity plants?

Thank you very much for your reply. As, the fruits of this plant is also used in manufacturing of different pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, is it still not suitable to use for the phytoremediation?
I think the desired constituents are separated by means of fractional distillation and no contamination matters in such case.
It is not edible and not usable from a point of view of public health (or safety). Maybe it would be dagerous waste only.
Generally for phytoremediation purposes, you are not allow to use those plants those have edible value. Most of the plant species those have used for phytoremediation purpose later used in bioenergy production, not for food.
I hope that after biogas production residuas are not used for planting.
hey you can but it s a long process, ı guess it s known responsible gene or genes which responsible for kinda help different phytoremediation type. With CRISPR u can change gene of interest but it s not so easy procces and need long time. ı m suggesting u that raise that plant with controlled enviroment that provide u less danger. best regards.
