I've tried to cut a project using SUS304 2B, but unfortunately the dross formation is rather critical and the dross formation. I've increase the focus distance but the result almost the same.
Your question does not contain necessary information on the process (sheet thickness, laser type and operation mode, cutting speed, assist gas type/pressure, nozzle type/standoff etc.) so the true answer can be hardly made.
Typically the problem of dross for chromium steels is solved by using neutral gas with high pressure (for example nitrogen at 25 - 30 Bar)
