I want measure the surface charge of a polymer film in the solid state without any contact with any liquid. Kindly let me know the technique for the same.
Is the surface charge the result of spontaneous polarization of the film? If so you can use the method exploiting the pyroelectric effect, a standard technique to measure polarization by integrating the displacement current that originates from a change in polarization.
Kelvin probe force microscope (KPFM) is an useful technique for measuring the surface charge on a polymer film. We measure KPFM in tapping mode so that no contact with liquid or any other substance is necessary.
You can use the electrostatic voltmeter and Kelvin probe to measure surface charge distribution. References below may be useful for you:
