Elizabeth Goodrick and Trish Reay (2011) wrote an interesting article where they investigated historical documents about the work of US pharmacists with the purpose of showing "how professional work can reflect multiple institutional logics" (p. 372). They used four logics as references: Professional, corporate, market, and state logics.
They measured the strength of each logic "by evaluating the extent to which the pharmacists’ practices as indicated in historical accounts were consistent with the practices implied by the ideal type of the logic." (p. 387). This means that the closeness of the actual work practices of the pharmacists in each historical era to the ideal type of each logic reflects the strength of each logic. To numerically evaluate this, they used a "standard scale of 1 to 5, where 1 indicates very low consistency (or similarity) and 5 indicates very high consistency (or similarity)" (p. 387).
Any other ideas on how to do this? Or are you aware of any other nice studies that have done this?
Logic is structure of something. Then his strenght based on representation structure, adequacy or not.
I have to say hahaha when it comes to any sort of politics because we all comprehend the bottom line or hook sort of speak from that sort of song. However getting a true measurement by devising a clever sort of questionnaire is probable. I am thinking using a sort of google analytics approach. It may seem a little unorthodox but it's an idea anyway. Good luck peter.
I have recently come across an article by Trish Reay and Candace Jones called "Qualitatively Capturing Institutional Logics", where they discuss three techniques for grasping institutional logics. I'm not sure whether they write about the "intensity" of them acting upon your object, but I'm convinced they will help you! :)

You search for rational maeasurment of rational thinkink. Strengt of logic imply from material truth of proposiions and variant of law of reasoning I thought that is enought. You colud add heuristics, but they are formalized by epistemic logic, later I will work on that, now i wrote something else.
