If there is high viscous fluid layer between two solid plates such that the bottom plate is stationary and top plate is rotating. How to measure slip in this case ?
You could make two acrylic plates, submerge them in a rectangular tank with your fluid and do micro-PIV.
That's going to be an interesting but not an easy experiment.
Actually, I'm quite surprised there is no literature on the subject. I presume you are asking this question having done an exhausting literature review.
Measuring slip in a high viscous fluid layer between two solid plates can be challenging, as the fluid layer is thick, and the slip may be difficult to detect.
The shear rate can be measured using a viscometer or other shear rate sensor. The shear rate can be used to calculate the slip by using appropriate lubrication theory.
