For nitrogen, we can use a long term aerobic incubation (Stanford and Smith, 1972), and many others since then. I have used destructive sampling, rather than leaching to measure P mineralization, but without leaching (removing the solution P), I am not encouraging more P mineralization. I don't feel it's a good method. Has anyone tried P mineralization tests through leaching and then measuring P in leachate as an indicator for P mineralization for plant uptake in agricultural soils? If so, can you direct me to an article with the methodology? Thanks.
