I am running a filtration experiment using EIS to determine scaling on the membrane. But I have an issue with measuring the mass or weight of the permeate during filtration because I do not have a digital balance. Is there any manual way to measure the permeate weight/mass while running the experiment?

Not sure what your setup looks like but a suggestion could be to collect the permeate as function of time in a number of jars and to determine mass flux by weighing them and plotting the results cumulative against time.

Thanks Wim for the answer. For clarity, my system is a simple filtration setup (a pump feeds a flow cell and the retentate is recirculated back to the feed tank. There are pressure gauges; at feed and permeate to monitor pressure and a valve to control TMP.
Could the cumulative approach indicate if there is a drop or increase in flux with respect to time? I would give it a try and see how it goes.
Why didn`t use volumetric methods?
