Dear all,

In the analysis of noise and vibrations of electric machines, we are computing the local distribution of the magnetic field in the air gap, as close as possible to the stator. Then, thanks to, for example, the Maxwell stress tensor, we obtain the normal and tangential components of the magnetic pressure distribution acting on the stator. This pressure is then exerted on a mechanical or vibro-acoustic model. The attached figures summarizes this.

Are there some papers adressing the measurement of the local magnetic field distribution to be able to compare FEA / analytical computations to measurements? If not, what are the limitations?

Regards,

Guillaume
