Dear colleagues,

My research is focused on relations between structural features of plants and host preference of herbivorous arthropods colonizing these plants. I started working particularly with Ficus grown in greenhouse conditions and pest fauna occurring on them (only sap-sucking arthropods living on leaves). The goal is not only to find correlations between leaf structure in the plants and density/species composition of pests, but also to prove the importance of leaf structure traits in host preference of herbivores. To get the evidences the leaf traits should be changed in an experimental way while keeping other factors constant.
