How to make university students socialize with each other?
Create activities that required individual students to participate as a group - this can increase interactions as there are dependencies among students to achieve group objective. E.g.
group-based assignment or group-based project paper that needs to involve a group of students.
team building exercises that required students to participate as team members in a group.
Charity works, quizzes or sports etc. competitions among groups - each group consists of several students etc.
Most of the process of socialization you will experience will not come from any written documents; they will come from interacting with your peers, faculty and staff. These experiences might be the most challenging because you might find that the rules change depending on the people, time and place. Some profs want you to call them by their first name; others will be offended if you do. Some staff members are open to walk-in appointments, while others stick to a schedule of appointments. Need to turn in a paper late? Some TAs will let a deadline slide, others will strictly adhere to deadlines. All of this can be very confusing when you are trying to figure out how to be a college student. So everything will solve by the way there is no universal key for everything.
Let the students understand the benefits of teamwork and encourage them to participate any programme as team and teach them to solve even small problems also as team.
Most effective platform is to make the students work on a common interest area like interactive session (debate, symposium), literary meets, giving hands in organizing a conference/ symposium, sports meets etc. It will boost their moral, team spirit, confidence, social responsibility etc.
Longlasting Friendships develop among university students if they interact with each other often. The staff members can facilitate this by holding debates, symposiums etc.
