i have a problem with simulating of wave propagation. message frequency is 7 Hz and carrier is about 30kHz, both are used to make an amp modulated excitation signal. my time step is 1e-6 due to lamb wave dispersion curves related to my material. to demonstrate both of the frequencies i think i should run my model 1/7 (s) and as i need at least 4 period the duration or time range will be about [0, 1e-6, 4/7]. now, is my assumption true about solving the problem in time -dependent or range of processing? is there any way to make the simulation process faster? thanks in advance.
If I wanted faster calculation time, I would use Abaqus in which you can customize your response (for example stress or displacement in only one direction). COMSOL may generate thorough results some of which you may not need. Nonetheless, Simulation of guided/lamb waves are generally similar in both.
