I need to get a filter of good porosity (flows well) at the bottom of a 200ul tip. I need to filter small volumes of solutions in 96 format. Any ideas? The filter needs to be inert (so C18 or C8 material wont do) and I need to manufacture them in bulk. So my questions are:
1) has anyone seen a filter tip (similar to those used for normal pipettes), but with tips at the very bottom to minimise the filter size?

2) does anyone know how to polymerise nitrocellulse or polypropilene in a tip?
The filter tips in your link are not to filter solutions, but to protect the pipette shaft from aerosol contamination. What are you trying to achieve?
I understand the intended function of these tips, but I would like to use them for filtering. In fact I already did and it works for proteomics applications (I put the solution on top of a filter and then push the solution through with centrifugal force and collect the flowthrough into 96 well plate). The problem however is that the filter is not at the very tip and hence its surface is quite large. Hence I would like a tip with the filter at the very bottom of a tip. I cannot find such tips available (for obvious reasons, as putting the filter at the very bottom would mean the tips can no longer be used for their intended purpose), but I was wondering if I could make them
You could try cutting the tips off the tips so the filter is nearer the tip :) I'm surprised that centrifugal force is sufficient to overcome surface tension with small volumes. Another option might be to find tips the nest tightly (one inside the other) and put some filter material between them.
