Hi, I am doing antenna design using HFSS. It should cover 2.4GHz bands and 5.1-7.1GHz (Return Loss -6dB). It has 3 resonances at 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz and 6.5GHz. from 5.1-5.7GHz the return loss is not good.
I tried to change the length, width of slot, added more slot, change lumped elements but they didn't help.
Does anyone have an idea how to tun it to make it wider at 5GHz bands?
The attached are S11, smith chart (5-6GHz) and matching network.

The ground plane size can be modified like making the size of ground plane half of substrate width or length.

You can present the current distribution of the antenna at 5 GHz to see which part is responsible for this resonance. Then execute your modification on this part without affecting the first achieved band 2.4 GHz.
One of the solutions is to change this aforementioned part to a biconical or bow tie shape which exhibits a wide bandwidth.

As the above researchers said.. use the bow tie slot antenna or simply use the following equivalent type(Vivaldi antenna). It is a directive wideband antenna. You can search for it to get more info.
