your question is very interesting but also very difficult for me and I am not able to give you an answer.
I can only tell you that in the specific case of aluminothermic reduction of zirconium oxide (Zr02) to obtain Al-Zr alloy, a maximum recovery of 92.8% AI-Zr alloy was obtained for a charge containing 20% excess aluminum over stoichiometric requirement.
