I have the absorption cooling system modeled and simulated in ASPEN PLUS using LiBr/Water as working fluid, I would like to link the results from ASPEN to Excel in order to calculate and apply Energy and Exergy analyses to the system. Can someone help me how to do this?
ASPEN PLUS has a built in EXCEL subroutine capability that interacts directly with the simulator, flow sheet, and properties sections. You can find in near the bottom of the set up menu as an option along with FORTRAN subroutine options.
The help routines can show you how to populate the EXCEL pages and link the spread sheet with the simulator I/O.
One caution, the EXCEL subpages go out of date and must be modernized when you update your ASPEN or your EXCEL systems. For that reason I sometimes use the FORTRAN option that automatically updates when ASPEN is updated.

HELLO TO ALL, I AM WORKING WITH A MODEL SEMI-CONTINUOUS TUNER DRYER, AND I HAVE THE DRYING KINETIC MODEL MADE IN EXCEL MACROS. WHAT I WANT TO DO IS TO SIMULATE DRYING CONDITIONS IN ASPEN AND ADDING A HEAT PUMP BUT THE DRY SEL PART IS COMBINED WITH THE MODEL I ALREADY HAVE MADE IN EXCEL, AND I WANTED TO KNOW HOW I CAN LOAD THIS MODEL TO ASPEN
Also you can use MATLAB to calculate Exergy or Economics
Aspen plus and MATLAB can directly connect to each other and make a good interface by ActiveX method.
