I have calibration graph using GC-MS ion trap of a compound in microgram/Litres but i got the compound value in sample in nanograms/litre. Now i need to know the concentration of the compound. How can i convert?
Have you done that calibration curve yourself or it is extracted from literature?
If you get the value lower then your lowest concentration on your standard curve you need to repeat this with new standard solutions at lower concentrations until your value is on the standard curve.
As you are using an ion trap the calibration curve done will not be useful. You need to do a calibration curve in the range of the values that your are measuring in you own equipment.
Yes, if the concentration measured is lower then lowest concentration on your calibration curve you need to re-calibrate your machine to get a precise concentration. You can dilute your standards 100 times and set a new calibration curve.
