How to keep field samples for transcriptome sequencing for phylogenomics?

We are trying to sequencing transcriptome from larvae/pupae/adult of some wild bees. RNALater might be proper for field samples. Do we need to dissect gut from body before putting them into RNALater? What if we keep guts for sequencing? Are there any tricky issues which might lead to contaminations?

We do appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Dear Michael, I'm looking for phylogenetic markers. However, Dr. A-Rong LUO ([email protected]), the leader of the project would like to combine markers and differential expression issues. We can gather bee larvae in tubes and observe them in the lab.
