I think you are not doing badly so far based on the number of papers and the publication dates I see. However, here are few factors that influence citation to your paper.

1. Quality work: Work speaks for itself. Here you do not need to solicit anyone to cite you. It goes like wildfire.

2. How you write: You write so that someone can find space or something meaningful to cite. If one have cited 1000 works but never gave anything for someone to cite, doesn't make sense you agree!

3. Where you publish: Highly indexed journals or high impact journals. Visibility is important otherwise it will be like finding the needle in the haystack. There are so many good work that never get discovered. Just lying on the website of the publisher you know.

4. You and your co-author(s) network. Just like Prof. Subir Bandyopadhyay noted, you don't just publish, you have to promote your work too. Share it.

5. Finally, working in one area helps a lot. This enables you to cite your previous work. Researcher gets your old work discovered from the recent.

the most important thing is that research is published in which the scientists are interested, for it investigates what is within your field is of more world interest so when you publish something new that contributes to world scientific knowledge will increase your citations substantially, therefore the number of citations is a way to measure the capacity of researchers

If you are looking for the easy way out: Write a survey paper on a "new" topic. given that it is not hopeless, many people will cite it when it becomes popular and maturing. But, the number of citations should of course not guide you in what research to perform. Research is a serious matter, nothing one do to maximise citations or do by the easy way out:)

Survey papers are excellent solution as Kjetil K. Haugen proposed. However, they need a lot of work and a lot of experience.

Safaa is of course correct. And to be precise, survey papers are not really research either. Research is about your thoughts and ideas, not other peoples such :)
