It will be interesting to share frugal practices in class room teaching and lab. whether the importance of frugality is imbibed on students' minds? what can be done to teach frugality?
Importance of frugality needs to be taught to students, & even if a small % remembers & imbibes them, it can go a long way. Some of them can be demonstrated to students, by them doing it under the supervision of the teacher. Here is what I taught some of them to my students. 1) Instead of cleaning their clothes with any plastic brush along with soap & water, I made them clean with the help of their handkerchief or a rough small towel,instead of the brush. In this way the life of the clothes gets enhanced. 2) Instead of using soap to clean hairs on head, I told them to use crushed leaves of Shoe flower (Hibiscus rosasinensis) which is enough for the purpose. 3) Students at their age have the problem of pimples. Instead of using costly lotions etc, if a small drop of Aloe vera leaf extract is applied on it, it disappears within 2 hours, with out any side affects.
