I think it's hard to fight against thermodynamics: the lower the input heat temperature, the lower the maximal theoretical Carnot efficiency. I think that while the improvement of components' performance can add some small efficiency benefits, without an increase of the heat temperature it is not possible to achieve higher efficiency of the cycle.
