The picture quality especially of those saved from oscilloscope and edited with Word "Artistic effects" do not fulfill the criteria of journals publication. So which software is to be used in that situatiion?
Most people put images in eps format which significantly enhances the quality of the image. To convert your image/ picture to eps format, first you need to print the post script file of that image having .ps extension and then it is converted to .eps format. Step by step guide to produce . Ps file is given in this link http://spie.org/x13240.xml?SSO=1.
Thank you Akif. I had converted the file to .eps format with acrobat prof but after that the file could not be opened. I will now try your suggested method.
Are you using MS office or Latex to prepare the manuscript ?
If you are using MS office to prepare the draft, it doesn't support EPS graphics from late 2017 onwards due to security vulnerabilities in EPS graphics that can be exploited . Therefore, if eps graphics is inserted in MS office, it gives the error " The picture can't be displayed". However, with Latex, eps graphics can be easily inserted in the document by simply adding "epsfig" package.
Try to use adobe illustrator to enhance the picture quality. Personally, whenever I draw a graph or picture I export it to corel Draw or adobe illustrator to save in .eps format or TIFF.Alternatively, you can also use OriginPro 2019 for designing high quality pictures for research papers.
